Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you use our website, contact us, or request our services.

Effective and last updated: August 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to Lakeland Exteriors & Roofing (“Lakeland,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and our website builtbylakeland.com. It describes our practices when you browse the website, submit a form, communicate with us, request an inspection or estimate, or otherwise interact with our services.

1. Information We Collect

The information we collect depends on how you interact with us.

Information you provide

  • Contact information: name, email address, telephone number, and mailing or property address.
  • Project information: requested service, property location, project details, messages, photographs or documents you choose to provide, and how you heard about us.
  • Communications: records of emails, calls, form submissions, estimates, appointments, and customer-service correspondence.
  • Consent and preferences: privacy acknowledgments, marketing preferences, and other choices you communicate to us.

Information collected automatically

When you use the website, we and our service providers may automatically collect IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, links selected, approximate location derived from IP address, timestamps, session activity, and cookie or similar identifiers. We also use IP address and submission timing information to secure our forms, detect spam, and enforce rate limits.

Information from other sources

We may receive information from referral partners, advertising or analytics providers, public property records, social media platforms, review and project-display services, and other sources where permitted by law. We may combine this information with information you provide directly.

Please do not submit sensitive information that we do not request, such as Social Security numbers, financial-account credentials, medical information, or government identification numbers, through our website forms.

2. How We Use Information

We may use personal information to:

  • respond to questions and requests for inspections, estimates, repairs, replacements, and other services;
  • evaluate project scope, confirm service-area coverage, schedule appointments, and provide customer support;
  • create and maintain lead, prospect, customer, and project records;
  • send operational messages, follow-up communications, and service-related notices;
  • send marketing communications where permitted by law and consistent with your choices;
  • measure website traffic, understand campaign performance, and improve our website and services;
  • protect the website, prevent fraud and spam, troubleshoot problems, and maintain security;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements; and
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

3. How We Disclose Information

We may disclose personal information only as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy:

  • Service providers: website hosting, security, analytics, email delivery, communications, customer relationship management, marketing, data storage, and technical-support providers working on our behalf.
  • Business and project partners: manufacturers, suppliers, subcontractors, inspectors, insurers, and other parties involved in evaluating or completing a requested project, where appropriate.
  • Legal and safety purposes: government agencies, regulators, courts, law enforcement, or other parties when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect rights, safety, and security.
  • Business transactions: parties involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar transaction, subject to appropriate protections.
  • At your direction: other parties when you request or consent to the disclosure.

We do not sell personal information for money. We do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of individuals under 16. If our practices change or applicable law treats a particular analytics or advertising practice as a “sale” or “sharing,” we will provide any required notice and opt-out mechanism.

Service providers used on this website

  • WordPress and our hosting providers support the website and local storage of submitted lead records.
  • Google Analytics helps us understand website usage and campaign performance through cookies and similar technologies. Google may process device, browser, activity, approximate-location, and identifier data under its own terms and privacy practices.
  • JobNimbus may receive lead and project contact information when our CRM integration is enabled.
  • Mailchimp may receive name, email address, phone number, service interest, and lead-source tags when our audience integration is enabled. Subscription status may require confirmation depending on our configuration.
  • Brevo and configured mail-delivery providers may process contact details and message content to deliver internal notifications and customer emails.
  • RealWork Labs provides embedded project and neighborhood content and may collect technical or interaction information when its features load.
  • UserWay provides website accessibility tools and may collect technical or interaction information required to provide those tools.

4. Cookies and Online Analytics

Cookies are small files stored on your device. We and our providers may use cookies, pixels, scripts, local storage, and similar technologies to operate the website, remember settings, protect forms, measure traffic, and understand how visitors use the site.

Our Google Analytics implementation may use a first-party _ga cookie or related identifiers to distinguish visitors and sessions. Google Analytics may collect session statistics, approximate geolocation, browser and device information, traffic source, and interactions with pages and links. We do not intentionally send names, email addresses, telephone numbers, or property addresses to Google Analytics.

Your browser choices

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking some technologies may affect website functionality. You may also use provider-specific controls, such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control

Because there is not yet a uniform industry response to browser “Do Not Track” signals, our website does not currently respond to them. Where applicable law requires us to recognize a legally valid opt-out preference signal, such as Global Privacy Control, we will treat that signal as a request to opt out of covered sale or sharing activity for the browser or device sending the signal. We do not currently sell personal information for money.

5. Communications and Marketing

When you submit a request, we may contact you by email or telephone to respond, discuss your project, schedule an appointment, or provide related service information. We may also send marketing emails where permitted by law. You can unsubscribe from marketing emails by using the unsubscribe link in the message or contacting us. We may still send non-promotional communications needed to respond to your request or manage an existing customer relationship.

Submitting a telephone number does not, by itself, authorize recurring automated marketing text messages. If we introduce text-message marketing, we will provide any separate disclosure and consent mechanism required by law.

6. Data Retention and Security

Retention

We retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to inquiries, providing services, maintaining project and warranty records, meeting tax, accounting, insurance, licensing, and legal requirements, resolving disputes, and enforcing agreements. Retention periods vary according to the type of record, the relationship, and applicable obligations. We delete or de-identify information when it is no longer reasonably needed, subject to backup cycles and lawful exceptions.

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information. These may include encrypted transmission, access controls, form-security checks, spam prevention, software maintenance, and limiting access according to business need. No website, transmission, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and we cannot promise absolute security.

7. Your Privacy Choices and Rights

Depending on where you live and whether a particular privacy law applies to us, you may have the right to:

  • confirm whether we process your personal information and request access to it;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal information;
  • request deletion of personal information, subject to legal exceptions;
  • receive a portable copy of certain information;
  • opt out of certain sale, sharing, targeted advertising, or profiling activities;
  • withdraw consent where processing relies on consent;
  • appeal a decision concerning a privacy request where applicable; and
  • exercise your rights without unlawful discrimination.

To make a request, contact us using the details in the Contact Us section and describe the right you wish to exercise. We may request information reasonably necessary to verify your identity and protect your information. An authorized agent may submit a request where permitted by law, but we may require proof of authorization and identity verification. We will respond within the period required by applicable law.

8. State-Specific Disclosures

Residents of states with comprehensive consumer privacy laws may have additional rights when those laws apply to our business and the relevant processing. The categories of personal information we may collect, their sources, our purposes, and the categories of recipients are described throughout this Policy.

California

For purposes of California privacy disclosures, we may collect identifiers; customer-record information; commercial information related to requested or purchased services; internet or other electronic-network activity; approximate geolocation; audio, electronic, or visual information you choose to provide; professional information for commercial inquiries; and inferences drawn from interactions or service interests. We collect these categories from you, your device, service providers, referral sources, and public sources for the business purposes described above.

If the California Consumer Privacy Act applies to us, California residents may request access, correction, or deletion; opt out of sale or sharing; limit certain uses of sensitive personal information; and receive equal service when exercising those rights, subject to exceptions. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about individuals. Property-address information is used to evaluate and provide requested services.

Nevada and other U.S. states

Where applicable, residents may request to opt out of covered sales or certain uses of personal information and may exercise other rights provided by their state law. We do not currently sell covered personal information for monetary consideration. Contact us to submit an applicable request.

9. Children’s Privacy

Our website and roofing and exterior services are intended for adults and are not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information online from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us so we can review and delete it as appropriate. We do not knowingly sell or share personal information of individuals under 16.

10. International Visitors

We are based in the United States, and information may be processed and stored in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. Those countries may have different data-protection laws than your country. Where required, we rely on consent, steps requested before entering a service relationship, performance of a contract, legitimate interests, or compliance with legal obligations as the basis for processing. International visitors may contact us to exercise applicable data-protection rights or raise a concern.

11. Third-Party Links and Services

Our website may contain links to third-party websites, social networks, review platforms, maps, videos, or embedded tools. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies, not this Policy. We encourage you to review their policies before providing information. The presence of a link does not mean we control the third party’s privacy or security practices.

12. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices, services, technology, or legal obligations. We will post the revised Policy on this page and update the effective date. If changes are material, we may provide additional notice where required by law.
